And so I spent my 5 days of tooth-inflicted infirm with my sleeves rolled up and an apron over my PJ’s making soup after soup, giving my blender a workout and gaining an appreciation and indeed, an adoration for that once-forgotten foodgroup, the not-so-humble soup.

Here are my favourites, perfect to warm you up in winter or keep in the pantry for that day when you, or someone you know, needs to suck their dinner through a straw.
